My good deed this week..

Yesterday after coming home from my English trip at school my mam told me that she found a stray dog on her way home from dropping me at school. he was running in and out of the traffic. She couldn't stop so she had to leave him. :(   but later she was getting petrol and a worker was carrying him out of the petrol station so she put him into our car and brought him home. :)... hes a really lovely dog my mam brought him to our local vet and found out his name is rusty .. we are currently trying to find his owner hes a gorgeous dog Id love to keep him but we already have two dogs. I really hope we find his owner though... ill keep you updated ......

'The whole world is in a terrible state of chassis' (TY english trip).

Yesterday all TY students went to Juno and the paycock a play we studied in school. We also went to the National Library of Ireland where we seen W.B Yeats exhibition and Bog bodies. the museums were fun and I seen a lot of interesting things. But my favorite part of the day had to be the play Juno and the Paycock. which was written in 1924 By Sean O' Casey. The play was set in the Dublin tenements around the time of the 1916 raising. The set in the play was AMAZING it looked like a tenement room. they special effects were really good as well in one scene one of the characters was cooking sausages and you could smell them cooking. The acting was really good too the main characters Juno (mother) was played by Sinead Cusack and Jack Boyle ( father)  was played by Ciaran Hinds ( who was in harry potter :O ).
We also got to eat on Grafton street for lunch I went to McDonald's.
I really enjoyed the play and i would recommend going to see it, it is running till the5th of november.

Blog action day food glorious food..

Today is blog action day and everyone who signed up has to do a blog with the theme of food. To me food can be sociable, comforting, food can be a hobby. But only recently through doing projects in school have I realized how important food really is to people, food is also a life saver. People in 1st countries sometimes take food for granted like giving out because they don't like the dinner that was made for them everyone can be guilty of it sometimes. But I've learned that people in some 3rd world countries live on less then a dollar a day struggling to provide for there families. I hate to think of people starving sometimes it feels like the 1st and  3rd world are on completely different planets the contrast is huge.

Food can also be your favorite thing in the world my favorite food has to be chocolate. Seems that is nearly Halloween i'm going to talk about the tradition of one of its native food the barnbrack cake. Barnbrack is a fruit bread traditional in ireland. The tradition starts with each family member receiving a slice of cake. In the cake there is a piece of rag, a coin and a ring everyone is looking to see if they have one of these items in their slice. If you get the piece of rag it means your financial future for the year is doubtful , if you get the the coin it means your year will be prosperous and if you get the ring it means an impending romance or the continue happiness...

And that was my blog on Food...

English trip next Wednesday... :)

Next Wednesday we are going on an English trip into Dublin. we are starting off by going to the Yeats museum which show works by W.B Yeats. Then we are going to Bog bodies which is an exhibition which show various bodies that were found in bogs around ireland dating back 2,300 years which have been preserved in bogs until their discovery in 2003. I'm really looking forward to seeing a body which was found a couple of years ago dating back hundreds of years and they were able to find out that it was a rich man, and had Spanish hair gel in his hair.

After all this we are going to a play in the Abbey theatre. Were going to see Juno and the Paycock a play we  studied in school.

until next time....

geography trip of a lifetime !!!!

At the beginning of the year we were given a geography project. we had to have 3 people in our group and each person had to go to 2 places. Over all we have to go to two 1st, 2nd and 3rd world countries. we have to spend a year traveling. Alex, Alswyn and I  are going to Austria, Croatia, Australia, south Africa and Madagascar. We have to go to unusual places in each country. I have to research Croatia and south Africa. so far research is going okay. I have learned a lot about to countries that I never knew before. I learned that Croatia has really nice national parks that I would love to visit one day, my favorite national park has to be Plitvice lakes its looks like such a cool place.
I still have a lot to do before I present the project like research, but so far it seems like its going to be really fun. I wish we were actually going to all these countries.
Till next time....x
